Artistic Alchemy Retreat: The Fairytale Edition

October 17-20, 2024

Re-enchant your imagination and Dare to Create!

Join Sheila Ewers and Denise Taillefer for an intimate weekend of self-discovery and creativity.

Using personal ephemera, an image we love and resonate with, the archetypal landscape of fairy-tale, somatic movement, visualization, the inspiration of the unconscious mind, and YOUR innate creative potential, we’ll dive deeply into an infinte pool of imagination.

Activate Your Intuitive Artistic Potential

This retreat is designed for you to discover the sacred potential of your inner essence as you learn to bring vision to life. We will use the archetypal story patterns of fairy tale with particular emphasis on the tale of seal-woman, or selke, who bridges the domain between earth and sea to discover how to dance through our own inner landscapes and bring to life what seems to exist only in the imagination. The experience is limited to eight participants and will include conscious movement and yoga each morning, art lessons and inspiration in the afternoons, journaling, visualization, meditation, breath work, dance, and ceremony to help you realize the fullness of your potential. Activities will complement your inner work and artistic skills as we visit the beach, dolphin watch on a boat, gather at the shore, eat delicious foods and savor the opportunity to embrace both stillness and connection.

Denise Taillefer

Denise, nicknamed Doodle-D for her lifelong love of doodling, is a multi-media artist who draws inspiration from nature, fairytales, and her travels. After graduating with a degree in psychology, Denise explored the healing arts before experiencing a creative awakening in the vibrant rainforests of Brazil. Returning to Atlanta in 2010 with paintbrush and baby in hand, she embraced her artistic calling.

Denise works from her home studio, creating joyful and colorful artwork in a variety of mediums, including acrylic paintings, mixed media pieces, mosaics and ceramics. Her art is full of vibrant colors and playful energy. Her canvases come alive with acrylics, and her mixed media pieces overflow with textures and ephemera. Denise creates intricate mosaics, a practice reminiscent of her childhood collages, breathing new life into broken china and tiles.

Recently, she has embarked on a new chapter, sharing her passion by teaching mixed media techniques and empowering others to unlock their creativity.
